Request Account Deletion

How to delete your account:

In-App Deletion (Recommended):

  1. Open the Expenseek app.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Data & Privacy.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm your identity to permanently delete your account immediately.

Web Request:

If you cannot access the app, please email our support team at info@expenseek.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".

Please include your registered email address or phone number.

Processing manual requests may take up to 7 business days.

Data Deletion Policy:

When you request account deletion, the following data is permanently deleted:

  • Personal Profile: Your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
  • Authentication Credentials: Your login data and password.
  • Device Data: Local cache and preferences stored on your device.
  • Activity Logs: Private history of your actions within the app.

Data Retained for Integrity:

To ensure the accuracy of financial records for other group members, the following shared data is retained but anonymized:

  • Shared Financial Records: Expenses, bills, and settlements you created or were part of within a group. This is necessary to maintain correct balances for other users.
  • Group Membership: Historical records of your presence in a group will remain, but your personal identifiers (name/photo) will be removed.

Retention Period:

  • Deleted Data: Removed immediately upon confirmation in-app.
  • Retained Data: Kept indefinitely as part of the shared ledger for other users, unless the entire group is deleted.
